  • ML models were implemented for predicting the Melt-Flow-Rate (MFR) in polymers production.

 

  • MFR is a measurement of the polymer’s viscosity, and it constitutes the most fundamental quality specification of the final polymer product.

 

  • Historical data of plant measurements from HELLENiQ ENERGY polypropylene plant in Thessaloniki were used for training and testing the ML model.

 

  • Implementation of preconditioning to remove the burden of correctly time shifting the values and removing noise from the measurements that relate to each quality measurement.
